On Friday, September 10, 1993, a new show called "The X-Files" premiered on the Fox Network. It was not a huge hit with viewers and many critics took a cautious stance in its future success. Yet, the show was determined to stay on a path of paranormal, compelling stories with two attractive lead characters of the opposite sex having a professional and platonic relationship. By the end of the first season, when the "X-Files mythology" started to take shape, the show made cult-hit status and attracted enough of the "right demographics" for advertisers and the Fox Network to continue the adventures of Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Ironically, "Adventures of Brisco County," a western genre show that Fox incessantly hyped at the beginning of the season and which preceded "The X-Files" did not suffer the same fate. It was cancelled.

As always, I would love to hear your comments whether good or bad on any of these. Obviously, plenty of spoilers. Beware!
